A typical conversation with Mike Ford
Mike: Such and such page doesn't look good on my phone
Jamie: Nobody uses a phone to navigate web sites
Mike: Everybody does
Jamie: Well, they shouldn't
For all you mobile users, I just spent many hours (with a lot of help from Claude AI) to make the site mobile friendly. I also added some look and feel consistency and a better designed manager landing page. If you see anything you don't like, let me know. Or just wait for Mike to tell me such and such page doesn't look good on his phone.
Record Breakers?
Jammel Cutler, whose name you know from his bylines in the Daily Sun, wants to know if we have any upcoming milestones. Brian Brown is within range of breaking Hank Culley's all-time HR record. Of course, Hank is still playing and could have something to say about that himself. I'd like to pass on some interesting stuff, so let me know what you think is newsworthy.
I did notice that Tom Hauser just went one-up on John Rebardo for most games played (943) in D1 history. Congrats Tom.
Mike Cudworth hit his 200th homer, becoming the 3rd player ever to do so. Scott Jackson (194) seems likely to join the 200 HR club this season, and Scott Akin (178) will be there soon enough.
Potential new members of the 1000 hit club are Joey Doyle (977 hits), Jim Faggiana (975) and Bouncing Billy Cecil (973). Danny Shelley (951) could get there with a good season. Linwood Manning, now 91-years old (give or take a few) is at 938 and showing no signs of slowing down.
What else? Let me know anything interesting, from an individual perspective, team perspective, manager, volunteer. I'll pass it on.
